Workshops and Public Speaking

Through its workshops and public speaking engagements, My Life’s Work’s expands the conversation about “work” and “life” and its meaning  personally and professionally.

CURRENT WORKSHOPS

A New Workshop for A New Year:First Imagine…Then The Image.”

  • What is your personal and/or professional vision for 2012?
  • How can you convey it in a personal collage — your touchstone for the next 12 months?

My Life’s Work, in partnership with the Paper Source (in Bethesda, MD)  poses these two questions and supports your efforts to answer BOTH.    First, you attend an introductory conference call,  facilitated by Mimi Darmstadter,  and receive specially designed materials to support your  independent visioning work.  You then join other participants at the Paper Source for a two hour session where you share your vision and then create your own composition, using Paper Source materials and benefiting from the instruction and guidance of two Paper Source employees.   The result is a picture in your mind and on your wall of what 2012 can and will be!

_______________

What is My Work and How Is It Working for Me”?

Broadly defined, “work” is what we do out of necessity or purpose. This half-day workshop provides an opportunity to explore your life’s work. Individuals in personal or professional transition find inspiration in the workshop content. The outcome is energy and action – participants leave motivated and newly equipped to address the issues that support deeper satisfaction and success in their work however they envision it.

Participating in the program means:

  • Broadly defining your life’s “work.”
  • Identifying your values and being able to articulate them in a compelling way.
  • Describing your “work” vision
  • Considering your strengths and how you can use them today and into your future.
  • Setting at least one individual, actionable “work satisfaction” goal.
  • Experiencing camaraderie, learning, and fun
  • Weighing purpose and passion in your “work” opportunities

My Life’s Work contracts with community groups and organizations to offer this four-hour program.  Please contact us to learn how you can sponsor this unique career exploration experience for your members or employees.

“I took a workshop with Mimi that was truly invigorating and motivating. She had great exercises that helped spark my creative juices and helped me realize that I needed to take more initiative in my professional life to get to where I want to be. I have recommended her to friends as a coach and I would absolutely use her personally for future inspiration and support.”
