A New Workshop For Women: First IMAGINE, Then the IMAGE.

  • What is your personal and/or professional vision for 2012?
  • How can you convey that vision in a collage – your touchstone for the next 12 months?

My Life’s Work, in partnership with the Paper Source (located in Bethesda), MD) poses these two questions and supports your efforts to answer BOTH.  First, you participate in an introductory conference call, facilitated by Mimi Darmstadter, and receive specially-developed materials to support your independent visioning work.  You then join other participants on January 29, 2012 (10 am – Noon) at the Paper Source for a two-hour session where you share your vision and then create your own composition, using high-end Paper Source materials and benefiting from the instruction and guidance of two Paper Source employees.  (The store will be closed to all other patrons during the workshop.) The result is a picture in your mind AND on your wall of what 2012 can AND will be for you!

Here are the specifics:

  • Complete the registration form below.
  • Participate in one of two conference calls (Thursday, 1/19/12 at 7 PM with Mimi Darmstadter)  During the call, you will receive materials and guidance for your own visioning process.  NOTE:  ANOTHER CALL WILL BE SCHEDULED THE WEEK OF 1/23/12 FOR LATE REGISTRANTS!
  • Attend the program at the Paper Source on Sunday 1/29/12 from 10 am until Noon.  The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to conversation.  The remaining 90 minutes will be dedicated to creation.  Paper Source materials (specialty papers, stickers, glitter, corner/boot punches, ribbon, markers, inspirational word cards, stamps, and inks) and instruction will at your disposal   The result will be your very own wall-mountable picture of the year (a resolution, a goal, a hope, a wish, a change)  to come.
  • Join [OPTIONAL] other workshop participants at Noon and after the “formal” program for coffee (at your expense) for  more conversation if you wish to share your collage and other thoughts in a group setting.  We will travel by foot  to the Barnes and Noble cafe doors away from the Paper Source.

Special Notes:

  • Paper Source instructors encourage participants to also bring their own stencils, inspirational quotes, photographs, pictures from magazines, markers to complement the materials provided during the program.
  • The Paper Source welcomes and encourages participants who have not completed their collage by Noon to stay and finish their work.
  • Sustaining the vision is your next step.  Mimi Darmstadter will offer a special three-session coaching package to participants (new coaching clients only) to support vision execution.  The three sessions generally will cover:
  1. Planning for your vision’s execution – what do you need/want to start, stop, keep doing? (February timeframe)
  2. Check-in/addressing and understanding challenges/adjusting plan (June/July timeframe)
  3. Check-in/addressing and understanding challenges/adjusting plan/cementing year-end success  (September timeframe)
