Coaching Services
The International Coach Federation defines coaching as:
partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential...Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has.

At My Life's Work, we believe professional and personal success and well-being is driven by an individual's motivation and ability to:

  • define for him/herself purposeful work, and
  • perform optimally in that work.
Our coaching model:
  • depends on client goal-setting and accountability,
  • invites feedback from others to inform the coaching process and outcomes,
  • places emphasis on the client's thinking patterns and behavior,
  • explores the whole person to create deeper opportunities for self-awareness and sustained change, and
  • encourages completion and discussion of between-session work to facilitate client learning and achievement of his/her specific objectives.
At no expense, we offer all potential clients an initial meeting in recognition that coach-client chemistry is essential.

Our coaching work with leaders of organizations fully considers their goals, interests, needs, and challenges so they can "shine" in their ever-evolving roles. The focus of coaching is unique to every individual and may address the leader's:
  • skill strengths and developmental areas related to his/her specific work responsibilities,
  • interpersonal relationships that are important to his/her credibility and effectiveness, and
  • natural style and everyday behaviors and their fit within the organization's culture.
Outside of the organizational setting, we work with individuals who are in the midst of a transition or find themselves at a personal/professional crossroad. The focus of coaching is again unique to each person and may address the client's:
  • values,
  • future life vision,
  • options for and perceived barriers to achieving that vision, and
  • opportunities to test new ideas, insights, and experiences.

Testimonials
Mimi worked with me in dealing with the ways in which I interact with Management at higher levels within the organization. She provided great insight into myself (things I may have known but never acted on) and encouraged me towards acting on my impulses while remaining astute to the political climate that we all deal with on a daily basis. I learned a lot about myself and am able to utilize my coaching sessions in my day-to-day work. Mimi is easy to talk to and has the ability to get to root causes and really make you think beyond your normal or comfortable thought patterns. I highly recommend Mimi as a coach for individuals personally or for your business.
- Operations Manager, Pharmaceutical Contract Research Organization, Winter 2009

I had the pleasure of working with Mimi for a span of 10 coaching sessions across the second half of 2008. During that time, Mimi helped me to root cause a number of the challenges that I was facing in my role and devise creative strategies for surmounting or working around these challenges. Mimi is a phenomenal professional of tremendous honesty and integrity who has a gift for helping even seasoned leaders navigate professional obstacles. Her understanding of personal motivations and the intricacies of corporate environments is unmatched. I would highly recommend her to business leaders who are looking for that extra "boost" to help them succeed.
